LOOKING AHEAD

As we prepare for a new year, it’s time to begin pondering our resolutions and what we want to do differently. Did you know that 37% of Americans make resolutions and that the average resolution is kept three and a half months? That is why I am not big on resolutions.

Being a writer, I am big on words though and try to have a word for each year, something I ty to live by and live up to for the coming year. My word for 2025 is WHOSOEVER. It is one that is commonly used in the Bible. Did you know that the term appears 183 times in scripture?

It is front and center in the most quoted passage in the Bible John 3:16. See I fit into the whosoever category, and truth be told so do you. Every one of us is a whosoever, because it is a whosoever who God loves the most. I am who God sent Jesus for, it is me who Jesus died for, and it is me who he offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to the whosoevers.

For 2025, I am committing myself to being a whosoever. But more importantly, I want to reach whosoevers with the lifechanging message of Jesus Christ. My resolution is to reach more people with the gospel and help people on their spiritual journey. My goal in life is to be an encourager helping whosoevers learn about Jesus and grow closer to him. That is a goal for my business Beam Publishing, but it also is a goal for my personal life. It’s time we take our faith seriously and realize that it’s up to us to change the world and expand the kingdom of heaven. We can bring about change by what we say and do.

Does God make resolutions for the new year? I wouldn’t know, but if he did I think it would revolve around kingdom expansion. Not in terms of a renovation project, but he wants record numbers to experience him and his love this coming year. Heaven has plenty of room for more whosoevers this year. Let’s be a whosoever and reach the whosoevers in our world this coming year. I’ll toast being a whosoever and trying to find them.
